Noreen O'Shea

Noreen O’Shea is a family physician, assistant professor at Des Moines University and a
“communitarian” at heart.

 

She was born in Illinios and traveled to Nebraska for college and Iowa for medical school. She also trained in Michigan and Nebraska for residency then fulfilled an obligation to the National Health Service Corps at a community health center in eastern Kentucky.

 

After a brief sojourn in her husband’s hometown in upstate New York, the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa in 1994, where she first joined the League of Women Voters. When they moved to Des Moines in 2014 to teach at Des Moines University, the first organization she joined in the metro Des Moines are was our local League. She joined the board a few years later and has tried to participate as much as her job and other community work allows.
