Karen Person is a retired school psychologist. She has remained active with League while a member of League of Women Voters of Black-Hawk - Bremer Counties where she co-chaired a study of Iowa’s Sentencing and Corrections Systems.  

 

Person became a Board member of League of Women Voters of Metro Des Moines in 2003 and served as President of the Metro Des Moines League from 2008 - 2010.  Person was hired as the LWVIA Administrative Assistant from 2014 - 2019 where she was responsible for electronic communications including website management and the newsletter.  

 

Person is excited to return to the Metro Des Moines Board of Directors because she believes in the League’s mission, “Empowering Voters; Defending Democracy.”
